Waste agricultural straws are turned into wealth for mushroom production

Recently, in Heilongjiang Tufeiwo Agricultural Technology Co., LTD located in Tulongshan Town, Hua’nan County, Heilongjiang Province of China, Button mushrooms cultivated via the newly-developed technology of straw fermentation grow well on fungus bed.

Tulongshan Town of Hua’nan County used to focus on the farming of rice and corn. After autumn harvest, straws are burned into ashes, which results in waste of resource, environmental pollution and fire hazard. In order to solve the problems, Heilongjiang Tufeiwo Agricultural Technology Co., LTD was introduced to the town for collection and storage of straw and combine it with Button mushroom production.

“After a year of endeavour, we successfully developed the technology of straw fermentation, which not only realizes the cyclic utilization of resources, but also promotes the re-utilization of agricultural wastes,” introduces general manager of Heilongjiang Tufeiwo Agricultural Technology Co., LTD passionately, going on that in each 100 square meters of cultivation area, each flush of Button mushroom could be continuously picked for 90 days, daily picking volume reaches 50 kg, daily incomes hit 420-600 CNY while gross revenues on each flush hit 40,000 CNY.

By 2018, Tufeiwo Company proposes to lift the volume of collection and storage of straw to 50,000 tons, expand the scale of mushroom production and launch into deep processing industry so as to truly turn corn straws into wealth.
