Truffle is known as a kind of rare wild edible mushroom, in international market, its price is generally at 500-800 Euro per kg. As known to all, Truffle is strict to its living environment and it is hard to realize its artificial cultivation. In China, destructive foraging of wild Truffle results in its poor survival condition, output of Truffle significantly decreases in China while its rigid demand is unabated, which urges global scientists to plunge into the research of artificial Truffle cultivation.
After years of endeavour, up to now, remarkable strides have been made on artificial Truffle cultivation. In Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Dr. Yu Fuqiang has been dedicated to that field for over 10 years, and the research results he recently developed also fill in the blank of China’s artificial Truffle cultivation while renewing the world record of single-tree output (nearly 500g) and single weight of sporocarps (nearly 240g) on China’s artificial Truffle cultivation, thus revealing the industrial prospect and potential of China’s artificial Truffle cultivation.
