As the major province for mushroom production in China, Henan Province covers a series of mushroom varieties such as Shiitake, Straw, Enoki, King oyster mushroom, Coprinus comatus and Pleurotus nebrodensis on aspect of mushroom production. Nowadays, Henan Province plunges into industrialized and large-scale mushroom production while local mushroom output has been ranking China’s first place for over 10 years.
According to data displayed by Zhengzhou Customs, in the first three quarters of 2018, gross export value on agricultural product came to 12.63 billion CNY in Henan Province, up 26.9%. Besides, now, there are over 512 export enterprises within the province, export markets spread to over 137 nations in five continents. And, in the first three quarters, export value of mushroom also hit 6.43 billion CNY in Henan Province, up 60%.
“Nanyang and Sanmenxia City are main prefecture and city for export of agricultural products in Henan Province,” introduces Mr. Zhang Qiang, deputy director of General Statistics Office of Zhengzhou Customs.
In 2005, Shiitake mushrooms produced in Nanyang City were exported to oversea nations for the first time. Up to now, export value has been lifted from 3 million USD in 2005 to 653 million USD in 2017.
