On October 15, staffs working in mushroom base of Shangli Village of Jianning County are engaged with bagging work.
“We annually output over 1.3 million bags of Agrocybe cylindracea, revenues on each bag hit 1 CNY while over 1000 villagers are leaded to increase revenues,” said principal of the base.
Jianning County, Fujian Province of China abounds in Lotus seed while it always has to face with the puzzle on disposal of Lotus seed hulls.
“The majority of Lotus seed hulls are abandoned at will while a small part are used to make fires for cooking, as you know, waste liquid exuding from piles of rotten Lotus seed hulls is strong in corrosion,” introduces one of Lotus seed producers in Jianning County friendly, going that after the scientific adjustment, powdered Lotus seed hulls are used for mushroom cultivation, which realizes the reasonable utilization of resource, reduces the cultivation costs, increases the benefits while curing the environmental problems.
In recent years, Jianning County actively guides local mushroom cooperatives and growers to launch into green and circular cultivation with Lotus seed hull, waste pear branch, bamboo dust, straw, rice husk and other agricultural wastes. In 2018, Jianning County mainly promotes Agrocybe cylindracea, Auricularia polytricha and Shiitake cultivation with Lotus seed hull and waste pear branch, which saves wood resource and stimulates the harmonious development of agricultural economy.
