Jiangshan City of Zhejiang Province: Mushroom industry experiences rosy advancement and development

As China’s largest production base of White Enoki mushroom, Jiangshan City of Zhejiang Province has been successively rated as “The County of White Enoki Mushroom for years in China”. Besides, White Enoki mushrooms produced in Jiangshan City are a leading variety independently selected by Jiangshan City, and the variety has been awarded as Brand Name Product of Zhejiang Province and Gold Award of China Shanghai International Food Expo.
Mushroom industry of Jiangshan City was introduced in 1979 and it experienced rapid development in the 1990’s. In 2016, gross mushroom capacity reached 115 million bags within the city, of which industrialized Enoki mushroom occupied 19.71 million bags, Pleurotus geesteranus held 59.6 million bags. Besides, gross mushroom output attained 44,500 tons and gross output value went up to 350 million CNY.
After years of endeavour, in 2013, Jiangbai 2 (New Variety of Enoki mushroom) which shows the average output of 0.55-0.7 kg per bag was promoted within Jiangshan City while a series of new products such as Shiitake, Black fungus, Ganoderma and Straw mushroom began the promotion. 
Now, there are 9 industrialized mushroom enterprises and 2 Processing & Export enterprises in Jiangshan City, annual output comes to 5 tons while annual production capacity obtains about 3.5 million bags. In the future, Jiangshan City proposes to lay emphasis on platform construction, technical innovation, investment promotion and system building so as to stimulate the vitality, potential, strength, resultant force and impetus of mushroom industry.
