Coral fungus is a kind of edible fungus which holds unique, tender flavor and graceful color. It is the non-negligible component in Chinese wild mushroom resources.
Coral fungi contain Leucine, Isoleucine and other 15 kinds of amino acids, 6 of which are essential for human body.
Western mountainous area, Fangshan District, Beijing City of China owns abundant resources of wild mushrooms, during the middle of August and the first ten days of September, abundant rainfall boosts the growth of wild mushrooms, Coral fungus is one of them. In order to further develop local resources of wild mushroom, technical staffs from Fangshan Agricultural Research Institute conducted collection activity of wild mushroom and finally foraged for 2 strains that belong to Coral fungi.
After the foraging, they made tissue separation and acquired pure strains which provide genetic resources for subsequent artificial domestication cultivation.
