Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China: Overall benefit of mushroom industry is favorable

In 2016, gross mushroom output reached 1.29 million tons while gross output value totaled 11.5 billion CNY in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China, respectively went up for 279% and 785% compared with the data of 340,000 tons and 1.3 billion CNY in 2005, which realized desirable increase for 12 years in a row.
According to know, in 2015, gross mushroom output and output value of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region jointly won the ninth position on National Top Ten, the output of Button mushroom, Russula and other varieties has been standing on national forefront for years. During 10 years, the mushroom industry of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has been strengthened from an unimpressive status to the fifth industry which ranks only second to Grain, Cane, Fruit, Vegetable in aspect of gross output.
Mushroom industry implies favorable overall benefits while cultivators lead quick income-generating speed in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. According to statistics, in 2016, per capita income of mushroom cultivators achieved 23,000 CNY in the region, fourfold increased by 18,500 CNY compared with 2005. Since the implementation work of precise poverty alleviation, mushroom production has been realized in 54 poor counties of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, poor households that engage in mushroom production acquire per capita income of approximately 5000 CNY, which embodies satisfactory industrial effect.
Till now, six industrial zones that feature Button mushroom, Shiitake, Black fungus, Oyster mushroom, Straw mushroom and others have been primarily formed in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the industry is gradually centralizing to resource advantage area. In 2016, 36 counties, cities and districts in the region held over 1 million square meters of mushroom area, among them, 24 showed annual output of over 10,000 tons while 27 signified annual output value of over 100 million CNY, rudiment of superior mushroom region has been evidently emerging.
