Chinese start-up story: College couple returned home and ventured into mushroom industry

“In the beginning, after putting efforts to raise money, we finally purchased a biological fermentation tank and started ecological and high-efficient Black fungus cultivation in liquid spawn, then a simple tent built with asbestos shingle and covered 12 square meters became our workshop,” introduces Mr. Sun, who went back to his hometown with her wife several years ago, started to embark on mushroom cultivation and lead surrounding masses to jointly grow prosperous.
According to know, in 2010, the couple harvested 20,000 bags of Black fungus and won first pot of gold that year, two years later, they successfully established Junzhisen Mushroom Cooperative and registered “Jinhe Biotechnology Company”, the small workshop began to evolve into flourishing business.
At present, the company holds 4 national invention patents and 5 patents for utility models and becomes the sole enterprise that engages in successful research of liquid spawn and mass production in Henan Province of China. Besides, a Shiitake base used for poverty alleviation has been built and put into production, several greenhouses have been built in the base, 110 local poor households rent the greenhouse and earn the annual revenues of at least 10,000 CNY in each greenhouse.
In the future, the couple intends to input 50 million CNY and build mushroom base that holds the production capacity of 5 million bags, and lift 2000 people out of poverty and grow rich.
