During the production process of Shiitake, sundry fungus contamination usually disturbs mushroom farmers who should look out its control tricks.
1. Trichoderma: Called Green Mold as well, when making inroads on the substrate of Shiitake, it primarily presents white, cottony and later turns to green. When you find that the strain has been damaged by Trichoderma, you should give it up without any hesitation. When it occurs during the cultivation course, you could immediately ventilate so as to eliminate the humidity and inhibit the spread of Trichoderma. The recommended chemical agents used to control the disease are 5% Carbolic acid solution, 2% Formaldehyde solution, 50%, 200 times of carbendazim, lime water holding the PH Value of 10. Besides, spraying quick lime on contaminated part reveals high-efficient effect.
2. Neurospora: It appears villiform, white or gray during the initial growth period, later it shows pink or yellow status. Neurospora mainly spreads and jeopardizes as conidia, it leads tardy growth trend when the temperature during the spawn-running period of Shiitake is controlled to below 20 degrees, meanwhile, you should control the humidity of spawn-running venue. When you find Neurospora during the production course of fungus sacks, be sure to drip diesel so as to prevent its spread.
3. Mucro: It is known as Black Mould, initially manifests white and then shows white to black in late stage. Mucro holds high occurrence rate under high-temperature, high-humidity and poor-ventilated conditions, it spreads quickly during the cultivation period of Shiitake strain. The main causes are mouldy materials, unhealthy inoculation venue and clammy weather.
