Take appropriate ways to control diseases and pests during mushroom cultivation

1. Mites: Mites hold small figure and are hard to be found with naked eyes. They mainly jeopardize on mushroom spawns and are mainly taken into mushroom house by compost and insects.
Control measures: Guarantee a desirable sanitation of mushroom house and surrounding areas, strictly check on compost and prevent flies from entering into mushroom house. When you find mites, immediately spray or fumigate the house with DDVP and Kelthane (Dicofol). For the mushroom house that is annually disturbed by mites, you could fumigate with Aluminium phosphide.
2. Springtail: It presents white in larva and usually occurs on the surface of mushroom bed and damp venues. Springtail mainly bites on sporocarps and causes small holes. Besides, it also spreads sundry fungi.
Control measures: When there are no mushrooms growing, you could spray 100 times of DDVP. When mushroom grows, spray 150 times of Pyrethrin. In serious conditions, you could spray 1000 times of DDVP or 400 times of Dipterex.
3. Flies: Flies present white maggot in larva and show light black in adult, they mainly make troubles on sporocarps.
Control measures: Strictly sterilize on compost to kill worm eggs. Seal the windows and door of mushroom house with gauze. When you find flies after mushrooms fruit, be sure to kill them by applying 800 times of DDVP or black light.
