The disease control on Enoki mushroom cultivation - Penicillium

There are many varieties harming Enoki mushroom such as Penicllium funiculosam, P.chysogcrnum and P.cyclopium. The main mode of harm is that it forms colonies which interweave with each other on the compost, then forms a layer of membranoid substance which covers on material surface, isolates with air while secreting toxins in the meantime.
1. Occurrence reason: The conidia of Penicillium are mainly diffused by air, which jeopardizes Enoki mushrooms throughout the year but it shows the most serious circumstance during high-temperature season.
2. Control method: 
A. The compost should be fresh and dry. When you prepare materials, reject any dry materials. When you sterilize the compost, be sure to guarantee the conditions referring to at least 10 hours and under 100 degrees or so.
B. Before you utilize inoculation venue or cultivation room, burn the aerosol disinfection box and fumigate, you could also spray 0.1% of Carbendazim Solution or 0.25% of Bromo-geramine Solution so as to kill the spores of Penicillium.
C. When you find Penicillium infection, timely dig the compost out, combine with fresh compost and utilize before the sterilization.
