The four adoptable measures during the winter mushroom cultivation

1. Reinforce the mushroom greenhouse so as to prevent strong wind and heavy snowfall.
2. Take warming and insulation measures, it is optimal to adopt hot wall for warming so as to prevent freezing injury. To prevent north wind, you could try to build a thick north wall or add thermal insulation material in medium part of the wall. Moreover, straw matting and insulation covering should be utilized to keep warm at night. 
3. Enhance the ventilation: Mushrooms live by decomposing organic substances, oxygen is absolutely needed during the metabolic process of mushroom. The purpose of ventilation is to supplement the oxygen needed on mushroom, discharge the produced carbon dioxide. Ventilation should be particularly enhanced during fruiting period, or it may cause misshapen or dead mushrooms. The specific methods are:
A. Open up air vents at noon.
B. When the outside temperature is above 5 degrees, you could uncover the film which is beneath the south of greenhouse for 10cm or so, which shows evident ventilation effect.
4. Intensify humidity control: You could put up several psychrometers to monitor the temperature and relative air humidity in mushroom greenhouse, which is necessary for mushroom farmers.
