Straw mushrooms fall under with High-temperature type,  the phenomenon of chilling injury happens in the case of under 12 degrees, when the preservation temperature is higher than 15 degrees, plus with strong respiration, mushroom bodies are easy to become softening and send out peculiar smell, Therefore, Straw mushrooms are hard to be preserved after picking, the optimal preservation temperature is in a range of 12-15 degrees, but this temperature range is workable only for 2-3 days of preservation. So, it is improper to store Straw mushroom in a refrigerator. 
In addition, you could soak them in light salt brine for temporary preservation, but it harms delicate flavor, the specific method is to wash fresh Straw mushrooms, discard the bottom portion, drop in saline water and bring into a boil, then wait for 2-3 minutes and finally turn off the heat. After cooling, preserve in the refrigerator for 5 days.
