Mushroom farmers should pay the following attentions when selecting Straw mushroom strain:
1. Normal strain should be in transparent shape, silver gray, be uniformly distributed and relatively sparse.
2. It should be eliminated if the strain is too thick or too white.
3. It should be eliminated if the strain is gradually vanishing in flask or appears mite plaques.
4. It cannot be used if the strain appears watery or smells stink.
5. The strain age applied for cultivating Straw mushroom should be in about 18 days, it is best not to use strains which exceed 30 days.
