Variety, temperature and humidity are the key elements which influence the output of Oyster mushroom, you could take timely and effective measures to control and minimize losses.
1. Major temperature fluctuations in a short time: The temperature in early autumn is easy to fluctuate in a short term. When the outside temperature has risen to about 30 degrees, it would be suitable for the spawn growth of Oyster mushroom, which suffocates the reproductive growth of sporocarps and wilts fungus caps and causes the death of mushrooms.
2. Strains are not adaptive to the environmental condition: Oyster mushrooms cover a lot of varieties and can be classified into High-temperature Type, Mid High Temperature Type and Wide Temperature Partial High Temperature Type. It is important to choose right variety so as to acquire high yield and good quality. When the fruiting happens in summer while strains belong to Low Temperature Type or Mid Temperature Type, hence resulting in the death of Oyster mushroom for the reason of inadaptation.
3. Excessive water spraying: During the distension period of sporocarps, excessive water spraying may easily cause edema phenomenon, resulting in infected, yellow and rotten sporocarps.
4. Strong wind results in plummeting humidity: During the cultivation period of Oyster mushroom, strong wind that is resulted from improper ventilation commonly leads to humidity reduction of in greenhouse. When the relative air humidity of mushroom greenhouse is controlled below 80%, tiny mushroom bodies may die for lack of water.
