In usual condition, strain blocks bud and grow toward the inner side of material 12 hours after sowing. When you find that spawns haven’t budded or grown to the inner side of material 24 hours after sowing, it is probably because of atrophy.
1. “Burning” in high temperature: When the temperature of compost is remained higher than 45 degrees for a long time, it might result in the death of spawns for the reason of atrophy.
2. Medicine influence: Straw mushrooms are sensitive to farm chemical. After sowing, you may spray farm chemical in an effort of to prevent diseases and kill pests, which will actually bring about the atrophy on spawns.
3. Asphyxia for lack of oxygen: Too high water content on compost (Generally no more than 70%) or too tight covering of plastic film may result in atrophic spawns for lack of oxygen.
4. The harm of Ammonia: excessive addition of urea in compost or too high content of fertilizer in the field, ammonia comes out of them and do terrible damage to the spawns of Straw mushroom.
5. Inferior strain: too short or too long age of strain may cause the reduction in growth and poor stress resistance, spawns atrophy under the unsuited condition.
6. Big temperature differences: the spawns of Straw mushroom are sensitive to temperature differences, when the daytime temperature is above 32 degrees and night temperature is below 28 degrees, atrophic spawns form after spraying excessive water.
7. The occurrence of pests: disturbing pests in compost bite and eat compost, which will cause atrophic spawns.
