The technology on cultivating Oyster mushroom by straw

2016-09-14 15:27:49

Utilizing straw as the main material to cultivate Oyster mushroom owns many advantages such as sufficient material and low cost. This kind of method has been developed quickly in recent years.
1. Choose superior strain: The suitable strain plays a decisive role on the success of cultivation. In China, people choose all kinds of strain on Oyster mushroom cultivation, but not all the strains are appropriate and are capable of realizing high yield in actual production. You could choose strains which hold strong ability of substance decomposition, quick growth speed, quick absorption speed and quick spreading speed, have the characteristics of anti-random, stress resistance, quick fruiting speed, moisture-proof, heat-resisting and high-quality.
2. Good softening process of straws: the most efficient method on the disposal is to soak in lime water or grind straws into soft shape of paper pulps or grass litters by physical and mechanical means, combine with the disposal of short-term heap fermentation, then the content of wax coat and silicate mineral in epidermal cell of straw will be cleaned and destroyed, which could efficiently realize the softening, improving and degradation of high-molecular compound. At the same time, it could also kill some spores of sundry fungi and pest.
3. Master moderate water content in substrate: water plays the foremost part in guaranteeing the yield quality of Oyster mushroom. Loose straws may cause big elasticity of stalks, the difficulty in water absorption and easiness lie in dewatering which causes poor ability of water retention. People could therefore control water content in about 65% when sowing. Too dry or too wet condition will cause serious consequence of non-absorbing in spawns. What’s more, improper use of water may cause rotten material, which decreases yield.
4. Adjust the proportion of carbon and nitrogen in substrate: the optimal proportion between carbon and nitrogen in compost during the growth process of Oyster mushroom is 30~40 to 1. Straws possess rich amount of carbon and less amount of nitrogen, in general, the proportion should be about 70 to 1. Hence, when cultivating Oyster mushroom by Straw, people have to supplement some nitrogen source to meet the needs for growth and development. The best way is to utilize corncob, wheat and grain to cultivate strain, moderately increase the sowing amount in a range of 20%-23% and make nitrogen source get into compost by strain.
5. Adopt scientific and reasonable cultivation method: when choosing to cultivate Oyster mushroom by straw, the best method is the bag cultivation, which could overcome the disadvantage such as failing to press tightly for the reason of loose fodder. People could choose polypropylene or low pressure polyethylene plastic bags of 50*24*0.03CM or use wasted plastic woven bags which was once used in bagging fertilizer and fodder to conduct bagging and cultivate. After finding that spawns are fully grown, manage fruiting after earthing or using fluid mud to build mushroom walls. By implmenting this method, people could get more than one time of yield than ridge cultivation in huge bed.
