The water content in compost of Enoki mushroom is in direct proportion to quality. Therefore, people could change routine management method during fruiting period, moderately enhance the management of water and fertilizer, which can achieve ideal effect. But the cultivation management of Enoki mushroom is different from Oyster mushroom, because it is improper to directly spray water on sporocarp or interior of material during the fruiting period of Enoki mushroom, so, after picking, compost will be in serious moisture shortage and will be hard to fruit again, on that occasion, many farmers will give up the management, which will result in partial low yield. So, water recuperation is an important measure.
1. Water conservation: after finding that spawns have grown to the bottom of fungus sack, people could immediately open the bag and scratch off the substrate, use rake to get rid off old mycoderma, cover wet newspaper or mulching film to preserve moisture and induce bud, when using newspaper to cover, people should conduct frequent, very little water spraying to remain wet newspaper, when using mulching film, people could spray water on ground or space, keep relative air humidity in about 90%, during this period, people should open windows and ventilate for 1 time everyday and keep room temperature in between 10 and 14 degrees, after 5 to 7 days, mushroom buds will occur largely.
2. Water spraying: after finding that sporocarps of Enoki mushroom have grown to 3 to 4cm and have entered into elongation phase, people could spray water for 4 to 5 times everyday, the amount of water spraying should increase with the growing of mushroom bodies, people could master relative air humidity in about 90% to promote the quick growth of sporocarps. Moderate ventilation should be given at the same time, the method of alternation of wetting and drying should be adopted to inhibit the increasing of mushroom cap and promote the extending of mushroom stipe. During this period, the amount of water spraying should be determined by weather, people could spray more water in sunny day and spray less in rainy day to prevent Root Rot, Brown Blotch and too much containing water that is caused by excessive water. People should be careful to avoid direct water spraying in mushroom cap. When finding broken newspaper, people should replace timely and drain off accumulated water immediately to prevent black dots which affect the appearance of commodity.
3. Moisturizing: after picking first flush of mushroom, the water content of fungus sack will decrease to between 20% and 30%. After picking the second flush of mushroom, the water content of fungus sack will decrease to between 30% and 50%. So, after picking the first and the second flush of mushroom, people should immediately inject water to fungus sacks to moisturize. In general, The part of moisturizing can be arranged after picking the first flush of Enoki mushroom. The specific method is to inject nutritive water to fungus sack, the amount of water should be determined by the number of picking. What’s more, it is improper to cause accumulated water, people could also prepare nutritive water in accordance with the proportion of nutritive water on Oyster mushroom.
