In the cultivation process of Oyster mushroom, green mold is a common threat. With the increasing extending on annual production and cultivation scale, green mold infection has become a very prominent problem in mushroom production, which seriously affected the economic benefit and enthusiasm of mushroom farmers.
Common threats are green mold, mucor, aspergillus, rhizopus and bacteria. Green mold is the most serious threat. Substrates that are suitable for the growth of Oyster mushroom are also suitable for the growth spawns of green mold. Undemanding sterilization, halfway sterilization in inoculation and poor sanitation condition during the fruiting period can cause green mold.
Mushroom House from Beijing Agricultural Technology Extending Station combined with actual production and provided the following suggestions for mushroom farmers on control method of green mold:
1. Keep substrate moisture in between 60% and 65%, too high moisture can easily cause green mold.
2. Keep dry and clean environment, with no waste materials and pollution materials. Improve the sanitation of the fruiting places, keep good ventilation, moderately reduce air humidity and reduce water-spraying. Prevent the fruiting in the environment of too high temperature and the alternation of wetting and drying should be conducted.
3. Pick mushrooms timely, remove incomplete mushrooms, broken roots, sick mushrooms and clean infected mushroom sticks timely.
