During the cultivation process of Grifola frondosa, common disease and pests are Yellow Sticky Fungus and mould.
1. Yellow Sticky Fungus: has no cytoderm, it is a mass of protoplasm which can move and spread quickly, it can directly devour spawns and sporocarps of Grifola frondosa and lead to the decomposition of sporocarps.
Control method: increase ventilation, especially in rainy season, avoid accumulated water in fungi bed, accumulated water in film should be removed timely, people could spray a layer of thin soil or lime in sidewalk to prevent the spreading of Yellow Sticky Fungus.
2. Mould: Grifola frondosa has poor antibacterial ability, after opening bag or earthing, Penicillium is common to see on the surface of fungi bed. Normally, infected fungi bed cannot get fruited, which seriously affects yield.
Control method: when finding mould, people could spray bactericide to infected part, which has certain inhibiting effect.
3. Flies and mosquitoes: due to the sporocarps of Grifola frondosa have heavy fragrance, which can result in the occurrence of pests. Vermiform larva eats, drills holes in sporocarps of Grifola frondosa (normally in the base of stipes) and results in hopeless sporocarps. This kind of phenomenon is particularly serious in higher temperature.
Control method:
A. Do a great job in surrounding environmental sanitation.
B. Spray pesticide in all around the cultivation field at regular intervals.
C. Install thin gauze in ventilation opening of mushroom house to prevent the invasion of pests.
D. Utilize the phototaxis of this kind of pests, use 1 to 1000 times of trichlorphon to spray on glass window, wall, gauze and kill pests.
