The success rate of spawn-running will be high if the the growth of spawns is sturdy, especially in mature material cultivation. Compared with other varieties, the infection rate is smaller. But in raw material cultivation, the growth stage of spawns have higher demand to temperature. So, it is the key factor to correctly mater the suitable spawn-running temperature in guaranteeing the success on raw material cultivation of Oyster mushroom.
Oyster mushroom has robust growth trend in the temperature of 20 to 30 degrees and has strong sundry fungus resistance, although sometimes it will be affected by sundry fungus, spawns of Oyster mushroom can penetrate and have high speed of spawn running, possess white and robust spawn, short fungus age, quick fruiting and flush-turning speed. During the fruiting period, mushroom bodies are robust and have high transformation rate. When the temperature of material in mushroom bags exceeds 35 degrees, spawns will stop growing. So, in spawn-running period of Oyster mushroom, people should strictly prevent too high temperature of material, use thermometer to measure. When finding that temperature is higher than 33 degrees, people should cast in time. People can prevent too high temperature of material by leaving gaps, moderately reducing layers, separating layers by small bamboo. It is worth noting that “lower is better” is not correct on the temperature of spawn running, spawn running is not smooth in too low temperature, if the temperature of material is always under 15 degrees, the growth speed of spawn on Oyster mushroom will be slow and will cause high rate of sundry fungus and Trichoderma. Penicillium digitatum will compete for nutrition with spawns of Oyster mushroom, secrete many toxins and inhibit the growth of spawn, finally it will cause rotten, mouldy bag and cause losses. In cold season, spawn running can be realized in warm greenhouse and warm place.
