Management main points of fruiting period on Shiitake from May to July

1. The management in spring and summer: climate characteristics from May and June is high temperature in daytime, low temperature at night and low relative air humidity. After managing bags, people could utilize temperature and humidity difference to stimulate the formation of bud. At daytime, people could cover film in mushroom greenhouse to create the condition of high temperature. At night, people could uncover film, combine with water-spraying to decrease temperature and increase day and night temperature. After the stimulating of 3 to 5 days, white cracks will appear on he surface of mushroom bag and grow into mushroom bud. After the formation of mushroom bud, people could pick out tufty and incomplete buds. Due to the high temperature and high moisture evaporation, people should spray water from time to time and increase ventilation to lower temperature. When spraying water, people could spray for 2 or 3 times in a sunny day and spray for 1 or 2 times in a cloudy day. What’s more, picking should be timely arranged due to high temperature and can be done in the morning or at night. When picking, people could hold bag with one hand and pinch the base of stipe, turn and pick up. It should be noted that when picking, people should thoroughly pick mushrooms and reduce the water content of mushroom bag. After 3 to 5 days, bud pressing can be done for 2 to 4 times in a day by spraying low temperature water, after that, all things can be arranged in common practice.
2. The management in summer: for most of regions, temperature can reach more than 35 degrees in July. Key points of management is to decrease the temperature of greenhouse, increase ventilation and prevent mildew and sundry fungus. Main method is: when the temperature is relatively high, people could spray water on film of greenhouse, reduce the temperature of fungi bed. People could spray water for 2 or 3 times in sunny day and spray for 1 or 2 times in cloudy day, give ventilation every morning and night and each time remains about 2 hours. Summer is the high-occurrence season of mildew, when finding a few mildew, people could use quick lime to cover infected part to prevent the spreading of mildew, when dealing with large area of milldew, people could dig out infected part and spray 800 to 1000 times of Carbendazim.
