Button mushroom belongs to fruiting performances at low temperature fungus and produces sporocarps in under 18 degrees. The most suitable fruiting temperature is in about 16 degrees. So, it is usual to arrange cultivation season in autumn, winter and extend to early spring. Due to the climate and landform difference of regions, farmer can determine cultivation season in accordance with local meteorological data. In general, the sowing period can be determined when local average temperature in day and night of fall is in 22 to 25 degrees stably. 23 days before sowing period is build-heap period. In recent years, in order to prevent sudden increaseing of temperature and the explosion of disease and pest when sowing, 15 to 20 days are often delayed in cultivation zone of Yangtze River Basin, that is to say, build-heap and fermentation are always done in first ten days of September.
