Physiological diseases and control method of Enoki mushroom

Enoki mushroom is a kind of edible mushroom and medicinal mushroom, it has crisp flavor and rich in abundant nutrition. But it will cause some physiological diseases if it is cultivated improperly. Here are five common physiological diseases and control method of Enoki mushroom for reference:
1. Needle-like mushroom: main performances are wiry in upper part of sporocarp, with more thick mushroom stipe and needle-like. Main reason is too high concentration of carbon dioxide inhibits the growth of mushroom cap. Prevention method: create, maintain a good ventilated environment and ventilate for one time everyday after bagging.
2. Advanced cap opening: mushroom caps are very big, but sporocarps are not fully matured. This phenomenon is relevant to the quality of mushroom bag, pollution, air, light, humidity and temperature during the fruiting course. Prevention method: pay strict attention to sterilization and inoculation, make good coordination of air, humidity and light during the fruiting course. For general varieties, fruiting temperature is not more than 15 degrees, the content of bran is not lower than 20%.
3. Aqueous mushroom: it means that it seems as if sporocarps have been soaked in water, present translucent and have almost no commodity value. Main reasons are high temperature, excessive water-spraying and slow evaporation of water. The prevention method is to guarantee limited water-spraying, the humidity of mushroom house should be kept in about 80% and give ventilation from time to time.
4. Fuzz appears in root of stipe: fuzz in root of sporocarps will directly influence commodity value of Enoki mushroom. This phenomenon is relevant to humidity and air. Prevention method is to avoid too dry or too wet humidity. In addition, it will cause too high concentration of carbon dioxide in young mushroom period, so, people should increase oxygen content in the bag.
5. Lateral mushroom: main performance is sporocarps are not grown from the surface layer of compost, but grown in side wall of mushroom bag. Main reason is too loose bagging and compost gets out of mushroom bag. Prevention method is to determine consistent degree of tightness when bagging, try to use bagging machines to avoid too loose mushroom bag.
