Seafood mushroom is also called Hypsizygus marmoreus. In Japan, it is also called Beech mushroom for its tender crisp, delicious and “Sea crab” flavor. Seafood mushroom possesses high edible value and medicinal value. Here are some cultivation technologies of Seafood mushroom.
The preparation of compost: the permeability of compost is very important and will determine the growth speed and robust degree of strains. Here are some formulas for your reference.
1. Broad leaf: coniferous sawdust 79%, bran 18%, sugar 1%, lime 1%, land plaster 1%, with the water content of 65%. (used in main producing areas of saw dust)
2. Cotton hull 98%, land plaster 1%, lime 1%, with the water content of 65%. (used in main producing areas of cotton hull)
3. Cob 80%, bran 12%, corn powder 5%, land plaster 1.5%, lime 1.5%, with the water content of 65%. (used in main producing areas of cob)
Bagging and sterilizing: use low pressure polyethylene angle bag with a fold diameter of 17cm and 30 to 33cm in length. People should pay attention to the degree of tightness when bagging. Don’t action too fast when punching and making sounding marks in rebar. After bagging, farmers should adopt sterilization under atmospheric pressure (100 degrees).
Cooling and inoculating: when the temperature drops to 60 degrees, farmers should move it to cooling room and do the inoculation when the temperature drops to 30 degrees and all procedures should be in accordance with aseptic technique.
The cultivation of mycelium: after inoculating, move bags in cultivation shelf, which was sterilized in advance. Control the temperature in 20 to 25 degrees, control relative air humidity in 60 to 65 degrees and give ventilation for 3 or 4 time, each time sustains 30 minutes.
After-mature cultivation: after fully grown, they should be cultivated in under 20 to 25 degrees for 50 days, they will get fruited when reaches physiological maturity and stores enough nutrients.
Stimulation and water injection: when greeting fruiting season, bring out cultivation bags and lay on ground or in bedstead, remove old strains lightly on the surface of compost. The stimulation degree will directly affect the formation and the yield of sporocarp, after stimulation, inject water in bags and after 2 hours, pour out the remaining water.
Bud pressing: cover non-woven fabric or newspaper in bag mouth and spray water to moisture. Keep the temperature of mushroom house between 10 to 16 degrees, keep relative air humidity between 90 to 95 degrees, keep concentrations of carbon dioxide under 0.1% to 0.2%. After 7 days of low light irradiation, face of bag mouth will grow a layer of aerial mycelium and form a layer of mycoderm. On that occasion, people should regulate and control day and night temperature in 8 degrees. Within several days, mycoderm will change from white to gray and primordium will be formed soon, gradually increase the humidity and improve the illumination in about 50 to 100 lux.
