Mushroom farmers should pay the following attentions when selecting strains of Straw mushroom:
1. Normal strain should be transparent, silver gray, uniformly distributed and relatively sparse.
2. It should be eliminated if strains are too thick or too white.
3. It should be eliminated if strains are gradually vanished in flask or appears plaques.
4. It cannot be used if strains has become withered in flake or have the smell of stench.
5. The strain age for cultivating Straw mushroom should be about 18 days, it is best not to use strains whose age exceeds 30 days.
